Hey! We're getting ready to build Chess Gold. A few questions about your game modes before we start on the later features.
If you get a king from a loot box, you now have 2 kings. We're thinking it works like this:
- Your opponent has to capture both kings to win (like having 2 lives)
- You don't HAVE to protect both — if one gets taken, you're back to normal
- When you're down to your last king, normal chess rules kick in again
Does that sound right, or did you have something different in mind?
You said pieces on center squares get upgraded "for their next move" when the pulse happens.
Does the upgrade last for just 1 move, or until the next pulse?
-
What can you see? We're thinking: you can see your own pieces + every square they could move to + whatever piece is blocking their path. Everything else is dark. Sound right?
-
Flashlight Gold combo: When you're placing a new piece from the shop, can you place it on a square you can't see? Or only on squares you can see?
You said "you can do ANYTHING" — just want to make sure we get it right:
- Do you start with gold, or is everything free?
- Can you place pieces anywhere on the board (not just the first 3 rows)?
- Is there gold income per turn?
- When you said "take and move 1 piece every turn" — does "take" mean capture an enemy piece? Or place a new piece?
