Why is 2+2 considered "Complex" and why does a file listing require reasoning?

Hi,

I have everything setup with the cloud version of Manifest.

Based on "Complexity Based Routing" I have configured several free / low-power models setup for Simple chores, and my Anthropic subscription with Opus & Sonnet spread across the Standard, Complex & Reasoning routing options.

As a test to check that messages were reaching Manifest:

• I asked Claude Code to tell me how many files were in my project directory. Manifest chose Opus 4.7 REASONING

• I asked Claude Code to tell me what 2+2 was. Manifest chose Sonnet 4.6 COMPLEX

Did I miss something? How can a file listing require a frontier model like Opus 4.7? And why does the most basic sum in the world get classified as "Complex"?

Could be because of the program you put the api in, just Vibe-Code a Chat Prompt for the api.
