Thank you for the work here, the final size seems great. Here are some ideas to share:

• Size of libavcodec.a reduced from 98M to 82M, most likely caused by disabling encoders, maybe a futher analyse should be done for size of each encoders, also note the some encoders and muxers might be used in some third-pary thumbnail generating scripts.
• Size of libavfilter.a reduced greatly from 32M to 1.7M since most of the filters are disabled, should also notice that some filters could be used in scripts like autocrop.lua
• Size of librubberband.a is 731K, affects some mpv and ffmpeg internal filters, a quick test shows that this has no effect on changing playback speed on default settings.
• Size of libdovi.a is 16M, where does not seems to be a lot of code, maybe some configurations making it that huge, it is even larger then libdav1d.a which is a complete av1 decoder. A quick search on internet shows mingw-w64-x86_64-libdovi for msys2 is about 12MB unpacked while libdovi-3.1.2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst for arch linux is only ~500K, there could be some improvments on this in the feature.

Thanks for ideas. I have disabled GPL dependencies in my fork because I have requirement to allow commercial usage.

I think rubberband (GPL) audio filter is not used by default. For me scaletempo / scaletempo2 etc. are working fine for changing audio speed & pitch etc. Other filters in FFmpeg can definitely be enabled.

Most thumbnail generators should use the screenshot API I think. It should only be dependent on image dependencies.
I have to see & confirm.

The new clang build makes binary terribly huge, ~10MB larger for x86_64_v3

The clang x86-64-v3 version has O3 enabled for all packages by default, this is the reason for the noticeable increase in size, you can compress the size with -DCLANG_FLAGS=-Oz, this will override O3.

Thank you for this reply, a quick search over code shows possibly related code here, this seems to require rebuild of the toolchain, would have a try later.

FYI, v3 enabled Polly, but LTO will render Polly optimization ineffective. If you still wish to enable LTO for ffmpeg, you need to disable all mlp encoders, decoders, etc. This is ffmpeg problem.

Thank you for pointing out this. Hope that upstream will fix this soon. Also, would enabling lto on ffmpeg affect the binary size of mpv?

The ffmpeg lto seems fixed upstream, but after lto binary goes larger.

Is it safe to change [llvm-ld.in](https://github.com/myfreeer/mpv-build-lite/blob/10614b74091709b82e2a852da1b899411fcff834/toolchain/llvm/llvm-ld.in#L7) when reusing existing toolchain chain before changing it?
Also, how does this affect performance and size?
