Ctrl+Space/Cmd+Space) to open a search widget, using capture-phase event handling to resolve conflicts with existing keybindings — iterated through 4 rounds of maintainer review covering UI redesign, drag-and-drop support, and code cleanup. - Identified and remediated an unsafe DOM manipulation pattern (
innerHTML), replacing it with a safer alternative (textContent) to improve code security posture.
Full-stack real-time chat application built with the MERN stack and Socket.IO, featuring one-on-one and group messaging, live typing indicators, and online presence tracking. Integrates the Google Gemini API for AI-powered smart replies, chat summarization, an in-chat @ai assistant, and automated content moderation. Supports Google OAuth 2.0 and JWT authentication, Cloudinary-based file sharing, and group management with admin controls. Deployed with a decoupled frontend (Vercel) and backend (Render), configured for secure cross-origin authentication.
