Tired of being locked into Scribd's subscription? This lightweight Chrome extension lets you download any Scribd document as a properly formatted PDF - with one click, no login, and no hassle.

Features

  • One-click download. Open a Scribd document, click the extension icon, and go. The extension handles the rest.
  • No account needed. Works on any Scribd document without signing in.
  • Perfect formatting. Page sizes are measured automatically so your PDF looks exactly like the original - no weird margins, blank pages, or cut-off content.
  • Real-time progress. A sleek dark overlay shows you exactly what's happening: how many pages have been loaded, how far along the download is, and when it's done.
  • Smart & reliable. Handles slow connections, long documents, and Chrome's security quirks so you don't have to think about any of it.

Installation

Since this extension isn't on the Chrome Web Store, you'll install it manually:

  1. Go to the Releases page and download the latest ZIP file.
  2. Extract the ZIP to a folder anywhere on your computer.
  3. Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions/.
  4. Turn on Developer mode (top-right corner).
  5. Click Load unpacked (top-left) and select the extracted folder.

That's it - the extension is ready to use.

How to Use

  1. Open any Scribd document (the URL should look like https://www.scribd.com/document/...).
  2. Click the Scribd PDF Downloader icon in your Chrome toolbar. (If you don't see it, click the puzzle piece icon and pin it.)
  3. Click Start Downloader.
  4. Wait for the extension to load every page of the document.
  5. When Chrome's print dialog opens, choose Save as PDF as the destination and click Save.
  6. Done! Click Return to Document Page to go back to Scribd.

Tip: If your connection is slow, increase the Scroll Delay slider in the popup before starting. This gives each page more time to load.
